Meet Stephanie Mathias
Stephanie Mathias is a classically trained pop artist who offers a dynamic variety of music for her listeners, from vulnerable original songs accompanied by the piano, to vibrant pop hit covers on electric violin. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Western Michigan University and 16 years of experience performing professionally.
Stephanie wrote her first song at age 3, won her first songwriting competition at age 10, and has been singing and writing ever since. She recorded her first EP "Faith" at age 15, and waited another 15 years before releasing her album "Fragile - EP" in 2017 produced by award-winning recording artist Marco Delmar. Stephanie's single "Run The Way" has been featured on multiple radio programs. Her original songs are characterized by piano and violin virtuosity, vulnerable lyrics and a haunting voice that could be described as a mix between Sia, Amy Lee, and Sarah McLachlan. A steadfast advocate for mental health awareness, she share messages of overcoming fear in her songs. In line with her musical writing style, she has a passion for helping those in need. She recently completed a Charity Concert Series where she volunteered to perform for various community organizations. She performs her original songs for private events and local hotspots such as Café Sazón, the Epicure Café and The Treehouse Lounge in Washington, DC.
Violin and Viola
Stephanie has been playing the violin for 21 years and regularly performs as a freelance soloist on her rich acoustic viola and vibrant red electric violin. She takes pride in personalizing each event for her clients by being able to play any song request. She has wowed listeners with her performances in corporate club parties, wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions, and High Tea at the Ritz-Carlton at the Pentagon! These performances include all sound equipment and a choice between high energy pop songs, song requests, and current pop hits with elegant piano accompaniment.
Stephanie married in 2010 and she and her husband have a vivacious 5-year-old daughter who is soon to be a rockstar herself. They live in Woodbridge, VA. When she's not singing or performing, Stephanie also enjoys spending time with her family, practicing Spanish with her husband and friends, cooking authentic Mexican food, practicing and teaching martial arts, and claiming her well-earned title of "Supernanny" from many families in the DMV area.
